Southern California Shaken by 5.2 Magnitude Earthquake

No Immediate Reports of Damage

A moderately strong 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Southern California on Tuesday night.

The quake occurred near Lamont, California, at 8:19 p.m. PT and was felt by residents throughout the region, including Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside.

There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries. However, the earthquake has caused widespread power outages in some areas.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the quake had a depth of 5.1 miles (8.2 kilometers) and was followed by several smaller aftershocks.

The USGS has issued a yellow alert for the earthquake, which means that there is a "significant probability of shaking" within the next 24 hours.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to be prepared for aftershocks and to follow the instructions of local authorities.
